The New Moon in Leo is coming up in a few days. I’ve raved about several of the New Moon charts before but I don’t think there has been any one, yet, that is as loaded as this one! Just look at the chart:
First thing we notice is the Stellium in Leo. There are no less than 4 planets squeezed into the sign of Leo; it’s the Sun (in it’s home sign), Moon, Mercury and Jupiter.
Looking at the aspects there is also a Double Air Dragon, with apex points in 2 different Fire signs. The trine of the Dragon is made up of Venus in Libra (it’s home sign), Pluto in Aquarius and Uranius in Gemini (also an appropriate planetary placement). The apex planets are Mercury (and also Jupiter) in Leo and Neptune in Aries.
As an extra treat there is also a Minor Trine between the North Node in Pieces, Chiron in Taurus and Mars in Cancer. This one might hurt!
To clearly see the minor trine, I’ve created a different drawing of the chart. Here, I’ve ordered aspects drawn to all points of interest, not just to the major planets. I’ve also decreased the sensitivity of the aspects, only drawing the one where the degree of the aspecting planets are very close:
That’s one crazy chart!!! Look at how the MC (midheaven) is actually a third apex point of the Double Dragon, which is really a Triple Dragon or a Hexagram (this will not be the case all over the World though, where midheaven falls at the time of the New Moon depends on where you are, but it will be where I live).
So, how does one even begin to match flower essences to a chart of this magnitude? For a stellium in Leo, there is just one flower I can think of and that’s Sunflower. And I just realised, I’ve been doing these New Moon blends that I’m blogging about for a year now and Sunflower was also the focal plant in my Leo blend last year. I really liked that blend and I’m looking forward to experiencing something similar. Apart from the Sunflower, I’d love adding Star of Bethlehem, as the flower have those perfect hexagonal pattern that the chart also has. I’d also recommend adding something grounding (which most tree essences are), and also a plant connected to water, as there are hardly any planets in Earth and Water signs for this time (just Mars being very miserable in Cancer).
There is one big difference this year (compared to last year) and that is that I’m starting a new job in a week, that I’m really nervous about. Last year I wanted to highlight the playfulness of Leo (apart from Sunflower, I used Zinnia and Columbine). This year I want to get a good start at my new workplace, so for myself I’m aiming at creating a blend that is grounding and supporting while starting something new, that is encouraging, helpful and also lets me showcase the very best of myself in my new surrounding.
My Leo blend is as following:
Sunflower (FES) Helps balancing the ego and promoting a sense of sovereignty.
Cinquefoil (Delta gardens) A Mercurial plant. Helps with luck, communication, money issues, legal issues and protection. Past experiences have taught me never go to work without it!
Mimulus (Bach) Soothes fears of known causes (such as failing a job or social anxiety)
Larch (Bach) Encouraging, uplifting, “You can do this!”
Walnut (Bach) Gives support when going through changes
Cherry Plum (Bach) Grounding and stabilizing, helps one to not “loose it”
Iqmik Mushroom essence that supports you in not making you smaller than you are, to live according to your full potential
Orange Calcite Uplifting, energizing and dispels depression and darkness.
When I created the above blend I had all the bottles sitting on top of a hexagram pattern, drawn out on a paper. The 3 yellow flower essences made up one of the triangles, the 3 tree essences made up the other. The Iqmik got to be in the centre. It felt very well integrated all along.
If one is interested in working with Peter Tumminellos crystal structures, the upcoming New Moon chart is just about screaming for a blend with gems and flowers having the hexagonal crystalline structure. Among the Bach herbs, Gentian, Olive and Oak fit into this. Some of the hexagonal gems that are available as essences are Aquamarine, Emerald, Covellite, Sugilite and Vanadinte. I’d loved to have tried this out but it’s just not what’s indicated for me, at the moment.
It does feel neat that I’ve now built a whole years’ worth of seasonal essence blends now. Maybe, in a few more years, I’ll be like “Oh yes, Sunflower season is coming up, that’s always such an empowering time of the year” and I’ll do my special Leo-Sunflower blend that will have some tried and true essences that go really well together, both with each other and with the seasonal energies of the year. And I’ll also add some other essences, especially chosen to match the energies of the current year. I do love the feeling of each season having it’s own special feeling and I’m looking forward to leaning into that even deeper, by using flower essences.
